GPMTA Student Recitals

Leland Peck, Chair
Stella Gaukhshteyn, Outreach Recital Chair
Fee:  $15 Per Recital, No Fee for Outreach Recital

Welcome to GPMTA’s Student Recital Series, which are held at the Steinway Gallery. These recitals are wonderful opportunities for students to gain experience in performing. Pianists, Vocalists and Instrumentalists, solo or ensemble are welcome to perform! Each parent is required to sign the photo/video permission form to give GPMTA permission to use students’ photos on our website and social media.
There is a $15 fee for each participant who performs in a GPMTA Recital.  See Student Recital Form on the next page.  Send or email completed forms to Leland Peck.  Send checks for student fees directly to Susan Rosenquist, Treasurer, 12100 Seminole Blvd. Lot 290, Largo, FL 33778, with a copy of the form for her bookkeeping records.

General guidelines for all recitals during the 2025-2026 Season:

Performing is a special event in a student’s music education.  Encourage your students to dress in comfortable, modest and attractive clothes with dressy shoes if possible. For the Masquerade Recital, students can perform in modest and appropriate costumes.

Teachers and Parents are expected to attend.  Students appreciate the added support you give them by being there.

Each student is to be accompanied by an adult.

Students are permitted to play more than one piece if the pieces are one to two minutes in duration.  Older students may play more than one movement of a piece if time permits.  This will be based on the number of students registered.

All students may perform their pieces by memory unless they are accompanying or playing in an ensemble.  Playing with music is permitted.  No repeats are to be taken in order to avoid lengthy performances.

Teachers are encouraged to see that their students sit at proper height and arm’s length from the piano.  Feet should be flat on the floor or with a support box which will be available at the Steinway Gallery.  Please instruct students to bow before the performance (musical Hello) as well as at the end (Thank You for listening).

Teachers are encouraged to perform with their students in piano duets, two piano works and accompany them on other instruments, such as voice, violin, cello, etc.

Only video recording is permitted.  Flash photography is not allowed during the recital.  Student pictures may be taken on stage following the recital.

Parents with young children who may get restless or vocal are asked to sit towards the back and leave if necessary to avoid distracting the performers.

Students are to arrive fifteen minutes before the beginning of the recital.  Students who arrive late will play at the end of the recital, so as not to disturb the flow of the program.  All students are reminded to respect the wonderful pianos in the showroom.
