National and Florida State Certification for Music Teachers
Certification of Music Teachers demonstrates a continued investment in and commitment to the profession and to students. Three phases of the teacher’s professional life are recognized: training, experience, and self-improvement. Certification promotes the recognition of the professional status of teachers it qualifies; it indicates facility in one’s performance area, and that students are provided with comprehensive, sequential instruction in music theory, history, literature and pedagogy, and that the teacher can run a small business and connect with our profession!
